Maintenance Walkway and Loft Access Upgrade

The homeowner needed safe access to her loft space to maintain her Solar PV system. The current access was inconvenient and lacked a safe, structured walkway. She required a dual-width maintenance pathway through the main centre of the loft, along with a safer, easier method of entry into the loft space. She also wanted an area she could utilise for storing Christmas decorations. Additionally, she was keen to have EvoBoard installed due to its timber-free, eco-friendly, and 100% recyclable properties.

Our team installed a dual-width maintenance walkway using EvoBoard panels, specifically designed to create a safe, secure, and durable walking platform. EvoBoard’s innovative dovetail connections allowed each panel to lock tightly together, creating an even, stable surface without the need for fixing directly to the loft structure.

The boards were laid neatly on top of the existing joists, preserving the insulation below while providing a strong, walkable platform.

In addition to the walkway, we supplied and installed a wider dropdown loft hatch complete with an integrated ladder. This significantly improved loft access, making maintenance tasks safer and more convenient.

The loft space was upgraded with a stable maintenance walkway, offering safe and reliable access to the Solar PV system, as well as practical storage space for seasonal decorations. The new wider dropdown hatch and ladder provided much easier and safer access to the loft, making future inspections and servicing straightforward.

Thanks to EvoBoard’s exceptional strength and insulating properties, the solution also helped maintain excellent thermal performance across the loft space.
