Mr. H | Swindon | Loft Boarding and Insulation Upgrade

Challenge:

Mr. H, a homeowner in Swindon, wanted to utilise his loft space for additional storage while upgrading the existing insulation. The current board setup did not offer adequate protection from heat loss and failed to meet current UK standards. The existing boards were nailed directly to the joists and the loft featured bracing, which made traditional boarding methods challenging. Mr. H needed a solution that would improve insulation without compromising the loft’s functionality or the integrity of the bracing.

Solution:

Our team installed 22m² of EvoBoard, carefully positioning the boards over the joists for a secure fit in the central loft area. The boards’ patented dovetail connections guarantee a tight and stable storage surface, while providing insulation that meets current standards. Extra care was taken around the existing ladder, with EvoBoard being installed in a way that allowed Mr. H to continue using it without compromising the insulation underneath, ensuring both easy access and optimal energy efficiency.

Outcome:

The loft was completely upgraded to meet current UK insulation standards, transforming it into a well-insulated, safe and practical walkable storage space. With 22m² of EvoBoard installed, the loft now provides exceptional thermal efficiency, reducing heat loss and enhancing overall energy retention. As a result, Mr. H will benefit from lower heating bills, thanks to the improved insulation. The EvoBoard upgrade allows him to continue using the loft for storage while ensuring his home remains comfortable and energy-efficient.
